Friday’s Reading

So, what are you reading lately? As I have mentioned before, I subscribe to several magazines. I just subscribed to Rachel Ray last night because I found a link via twitter stating that it was free. Sometimes reading all of the magazines can be a little time-consuming, especially when I am really supposed to be doing other things. I started reading some of the magazines today. These are some of the magazines that have my attention at the moment.

I always make it a priority to keep up with the local publications. Read the rest of this entry »

Opry Mills Mall Returns

As a native Nashvillan, I am pleased that Opry Mills Mall is returning to Nashville this week. The flood of 2010 was an emotional experience for me. I was away in Austin during the flood and was a basket case worried about my family in Nashville. The majority of my family turned out well from the flood, but my sister’s house experienced a lot of flooding. Thank goodness, that she had insurance and everything was restored. Well, the mall experienced flood damage too. The mall has been closed since May 2010.

Baking with Wine… Yes please.

One of the highlights of my trip to Houston was the baking and cocktail session with one of my best girl friends. It is great to have friends that are willing to open up their home to you whenever you come into town. We spent Friday night baking into the wee hours of the morning. We prepared a brownie dish, cake, and cupcakes for the University of Houston Frontier Fiesta.

The first thing that is needed for a late girls night is……wine.

I wish, I wish, Wish List

Was there ever a winter this year? It seems like we went from Fall directly to Spring. Not that I am complaining at all, I love the warm weather. Matter of fact, I am enjoying looking out the window now. I just hope that everything is balanced within the world. Normally, Nashville experiences sometime of winter and this year we basically didn’t. I can’t believe it has been 80 degrees this week. What will the actual Summer bring? Constant 100 degree days and nights? Well ladies, let’s get pool ready now.

It seems like lately I have been sinking into the advertising sinkhole that magazines send us subscribers through. Every time I read one of my millions of magazines I either instantly get hungry and want food or want to buy the items that are shown…. I guess I am the marketing/pr person’s dream. Well just yesterday, Read the rest of this entry »

St. Paddy’s Day Recap

How was your St. Patrick’s Day?

Main was warm and rainy in Nashville. The high was 80 degrees so there were high hopes of really enjoying the Main Street Brew Fest in great weather. It turned out to be very rainy off and on. But, I did not allow the crappy weather to hold me back and neither did all of the people who were partying in Franklin or drinking green beer in Downtown Nashville.
