What to do Today: Goo Goo’s Grand Opening

You know those delicious little candies. The ones in the silver, blue, or gold wrappers. Milk chocolate, nuts, caramel, marshmallow nougat, and yumminess. Since 1912, Goo Goo Clusters have been made in Nashville. And for the first time ever, they now have their very own stand-alone retail store – the Goo Goo Outpost at Fontanel! The Goo Goo Outpost carries all variations of the Goo Goo Cluster, Goo Goo merch, other nostalgic candies, and some Goo Goo flavored gelato from local Bravo Gelato. You should know that even though you want to be there all the time, they do have hours of operation – 10am-6pm every day but Tuesday; they’re closed on Tuesdays. They’re now open to the public but if you want to really celebrate this place, they’re having a big Grand Opening today, May 18 with samples, prizes, and photo opps with Goo Goo mascots and Goo Goo girls.
Since this a new place in my neighborhood, I look forward to welcoming them!

As the press conference was going on last night, the twitter was going crazy. I am a huge fan of festivals especially ones that deal with food and wine. Can’t wait to recap my trip to the Austin Food & Wine Festival. I had an amazing time and was looking forward to the Atlanta Food & Wine Festival.
This new food and wine festival is coming here to my hometown and it sure sounds amazing. We have many excellent chefs coming on board and I am giddy!
The tickets go on sell this Friday! Support!
Here are more details:
Music City Eats: Nashville Food, Wine & Spirits Festival is the brainchild of Grammy award winning artists (and Nashville residents) Caleb and Nathan Followill of Kings of Leon, world renowned chef Jonathan Waxman, Austin-based C3 Presents — producer of Austin FOOD & WINE Festival, Austin City Limits Music Festival, and Lollapalooza — and Vector Management’s Ken Levitan and Andy Mendelsohn.
Taking place in the historic venues and outdoor spaces of downtown Nashville, Music City Eats makes its debut in 2013 with an authentic, fresh and inspiring experience that will have even the most discriminating gourmet coming back for more.

Craft Brewed: awesome beers to-go
Posted: May 7, 2013 Filed under: Drinks & Cocktails | Tags: 8th avenue, craft beer, Craft brewed, high gravity beer, Nashville, Nashville beer society, Nashville craft beers Leave a comment »Nashville is slowly becoming a great city for good craft beers. Not only are you able to find a diverse amount of draft craft beers on tap at our local Flying Saucer and Yazoo, but you can also take your favorite craft beers home with you. Hopefully, it will be cheaper, since the beer tax bill was passed a few weeks ago.
A newcomer to the craft beer scene is Craft Brewed
